Children of men
This limited Edition print is called ‘Children Of Men’ and is based on a photograph I took whilst travelling over the Himalayas. The higher I got the more the world I knew seemed distance but one thing still remained which I found at the time quite harrowing. These two boys which will one day be men had no toys no possessions just some cardboard boxes to play with. But the game they were playing was pretending to shoot each other with their hands shaped as guns. It made me think deeply about how violent natured we as humans are. As children we are so susceptible to influence and quite often the wrong sort of influence. Even up in the mountains these boys just like when I was young were playing gun games.
I wanted this piece to show the darker side of our innocence as human beings. This can be seen on the faces of those children and I like to think I captured that in my artwork.
